Nigerian Singer Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has reacted to his disqualification from The 15th Edition of The Headies Awards. The singer has stated that he has no remorse about identifying as a member of the “One Million Boys” armed robbery organization in Lagos as well as other statements.
The musician, who was nominated for the 15th Headies awards in two categories—Rookie of the Year and Best Street Hop—had been dropped, according to the organizers, because of misdemeanors and unwanted press and police attention.
The musician was seen in a video in reaction the disqualification, praising himself while cuddling up to his partner.
“I do music for a living, it’s what gives me pride. I go by the name Portable Omolalomi. I thank God for my life. I got talent, I got God, I got money, I got fame, I got destiny, I got wife, I got children, you don’t know? God bless my family, I got motor, I got house, you don’t know? I’m blessed.” He said, in a mixture of English and Yoruba.
